DownTime (artists)
Washington D.C. and Detroit: two cities that play a crucial role in American society. One dreams up policy while the other manufactures eco-death. It is safe to say that presently neither is currently meeting expectations…but there is hope for the future.
Ian Funk and Adam Virga inadvertently crossed paths in NYC while Ian was freelancing for audio post-production facilities and Adam was working toward his audio degree. The collaborative project between the two made sense from the start and is as much a representation of the two cities as it is of each respective artist.
Adam brings the raw, simplistic, and dirty vibes that make Detroit the electro-bass capital of the world, while Ian delivers the basic groove, carefully thought out texture, and exquisite attention to production detail. Put the two together and you have a perfect model of symbiosis; each individually bringing their strong side to the table in order to create something that would otherwise be incomplete.
